The Long Beach is 5-star accommodation situated, as the name would suggest, along 8km of pristine white-sand coastline of Kommetjie. The bustling tourist Mecca of Cape Town is a mere 30-minute drive from the guesthouse, which places this lodging in the perfect vicinity for a peaceful escape, while never being too far away from where the activity is. With waves splashing onto the shore on your doorstep, The Long Beach is an ideal romantic getaway.

Untainted beaches are fabulous for an early morning or sunset stroll, a horse ride, surf or suntan. The Long Beach offers guests the alternative of the crystal swimming pool waters with a private deck, with lovely views over the sand and sea. From this prime positioning, guests are likely to spot whales just 100m from the shoreline. Kommetjie has established itself as a great surf spot, and is also home to an array of marine birds. South Africa's tallest lighthouse is also a famous feature of the little Western Cape Town.

The Long Beach offers esteemed guests a choice of six luxury suites - three Premier Suites and three Superior Doubles, which each offer gorgeous décor, breathtaking ocean views, and separate bath, shower and toilet. In fact, one of the favourite features of these rooms is that the bathrooms themselves boast spectacular views, ensuring that the indulgence of The Long Beach is maintained throughout the guests' experiences. Décor displays an understated elegance, and carries the coastal feel throughout.
Substantial breakfasts, including beverages, are served in style and consist of a wide range of appealing dishes. Lunches and dinners are available by prior arrangement with your hosts. The chauffeur service is an added luxury, and serves to transport guests to and from local restaurants and tourist hotspots.

Accommodation

The three Premier Suites and Superior Doubles are spacious (70sqm and 36 - 50sqm respectively) and each enjoy a private patio, plasma TV's, and a complimentary mini bar with snacks. The Premier Suites enjoy the added luxury of a separate lounge area and a DVD player.

All suites enjoy standard features, including under-floor heating, select satellite TV, wireless Internet connection, private room safe, air-conditioning, fresh flowers, complimentary tea and coffee tray, hair dryer and shaving points, heated towel rails, velour robes and slippers, sherry decanter, in-suite telephone.

Directions

From Cape Town International Airport:
  • Follow the N2 from the airport towards Cape Town City Centre
  • Turn left on to the M3 Muizenberg off ramp
  • Continue on the M3 to Muizenberg until you get to the T-Junction at the end
  • Turn right and at the second set of traffic lights turn left on to Ou Kaapse Weg
  • Travel over the mountain and at the second set of traffic lights turn right into Kommetjie Road
  • Once in Kommetjie, turn third right into Kirsten Avenue
  • The Long Beach is just over the top of the road on the right
