Located in the heart of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, Kambaku River Sands is an unfenced camp enticing free movement of game and offers total relaxation and tranquility. Timbavati lies in the vast natural and unspoilt area of the Greater Kruger National Park.
KAMBAKU, which means Solitary Bull Elephant, name is derived from one of the famous ‘Magnificent Seven’ tuskers who frequented the Kruger Park in years gone by. They were famous for their large tusks, one of which weighed an estimated 60 kg.
Wild animals, both big and small, move freely in this unfenced camp situated on a river.

The thatched suites at the lodge are beautifully decorated. Each suite boasts private viewing decks and the views of the dry River bed or bushveld are simply spectacular.
